Life Care Plans
A Life Care Plan is required for cases involving
catastrophically injured individuals, including those with
Paraplegia, Quadriplegia, Brain Damage, Cerebral
Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Reflex Sympathetic
Dystrophy, Chronic Pain Syndrome (RSD), Amputations,
Severe Hearing Loss, Blindness, and Psychiatric or
Psychological Trauma. Modified Life Care Plans address
cases involving such injuries and conditions as failed back
syndrome, herniated discs in the neck and lower back,
total knee replacement, abdominal conditions, eye injuries,
and severely fractured ankles.
A Life Care Plan provides an objective, detailed outline of
an injured person’s long-term medical needs. Costs are
researched within the individual’s local area and presented in
clear, easy-to-understand charts that can be used as
demonstrative evidence at trial.
A Life Care Plan comprises seven parts: document review, Life Care Plan Interview, an assessment of the impact of the person’s injuries on their daily activities, a detailed assessment of their needs, and research on the cost of required items in the client’s geographical area. This information enables the Life Care Planner to determine the disabled person’s needs. The Life Care Plan also includes an Employability and Loss of Earning Capacity Evaluation.
The initial Life Care Plan evaluation interview takes about three hours. After the evaluation, a report takes six to eight weeks, involving 30-50 hours of research. In rush situations, we can complete a report in one week. Edmond Provder can be reached at (800) 292-1919 or via e-mail at info@edprovder.org.
